My Story
The Heart Behind Out The Box Coaching

Out The Box Coaching was created from my own personal journey of healing, self-awareness, identity development, and surrendering my life to God.

For a long time, I believed success meant checking all the boxes — becoming a wife, buying a home, climbing into leadership, going to college, and accomplishing everything I thought adulthood was supposed to look like. From the outside, my life appeared successful.

But internally, I was struggling.

I lacked emotional awareness, healthy communication skills, conflict resolution, and the ability to truly understand and manage my emotions. Years of silence, people-pleasing, suppressing how I felt, and trying to meet the expectations of everyone around me eventually caught up to me.

Through God, therapy, reflection, and being forced to slow down, I realized I had spent much of my life responding from unhealed emotions I never learned how to process as a child.

Like many young people, I learned how to perform based on what society, family, and the world expected from me. I spent much of my life living inside that box.

When I surrendered to God, everything began to change.

I started thinking about how different life may have felt if I had access to a mentor, coach, or safe space where I could have learned emotional awareness, confidence, communication, identity development, and the importance of renewing my mind earlier in life.

That realization and many other revelations birthed Out The Box Coaching.

Over the last twenty years, I’ve had the opportunity to coach, mentor, teach, and support youth in schools, group homes, foster care settings, juvenile justice programs, and community spaces.

One thing I've learned is that many teens are not looking for perfection — they simply want to feel seen, heard, supported, and safe enough to be themselves without pressure to perform, and that's exactly why Out The Box Coaching was created.

Our Roots

Out The Box Coaching is rooted in three core principles: Faith, Freedom, and Fellowship. These values shape the way we support, mentor, and walk alongside youth as they grow in confidence, emotional wellness, identity, and purpose.

Faith

We believe transformation begins with renewing the mind and understanding that every young person was created with value, purpose, and identity. Through guidance, mentorship, and encouragement, we help youth build confidence from within.

Freedom

We believe teens should feel free to grow outside of pressure, comparison, labels, and the expectations placed on them by the world. We create safe spaces where youth can express themselves honestly while learning healthy emotional and life skills.

Fellowship

We believe healing and growth happen through safe community and genuine connection. Through mentorship, group coaching, conversations, and support, we remind youth they are not alone in what they are facing.

What We Believe

  • We believe every young person deserves access to emotional support, mentorship, and safe spaces, regardless of their financial situation.

  • We believe healing, guidance, and emotional wellness should not feel out of reach for families.

  • Most importantly, we believe the gifts God gives us are meant to serve others.
